My Low Self Esteem Signs #05 - Body Image

I often get upset when me and my boyfriend are watching movies and nude women scenes come along...

I think he's liking what he sees, and when I compare myself to their perfectness...

Well I end up down and depressed because I just don't compare!

A New Way of Seeing Self-Esteem?

Steve here, and for the last few years (since Oct 2012, actually) I've been seeing (and thinking about) low self-esteem in a different way. Not as a problem to fix, but as feedback to notice (and nothing more). That's right: nothing to fix, everything to notice. And all this became obvious to me after being introduced to the Three Principles behind life (in Oct 2012).

I created a free 1-page Self-Esteem Guide that explains more, anyway. You can read about it here (NO EMAIL REQUIRED) - SMNash.com/self-esteem-guide/

Thank you - Steve

It's often all in your mind
by: Mimi

From what I read in your short message you THINK your boyfriend likes what he sees. I used to think the same, until I just asked my husband. He told me these women did not do anything for him and that he loved me. He could never have them anyway so why even think about it...

Now I don't know whether you've ever discussed this with your boyfriend, but you might be surprised at what he says. And if he does find those women attractive, it doesn't have to mean he doesn't love or care for you.

A lot of self-esteem issues are all in the mind! You create your reality... so go for it! (Hope this helps :-))

Low Self Esteem Signs #05 - Body Image
by: Caroline

In a recent survey by a UK TV show, the results showed that on average women have negative thoughts about their body image twice every hour throughout the day.

More common than you realise
by: Steve

Thanks for sharing this with us.

I'm sure you are not alone in experiencing this, actually, I'm sure it's much more common than you think.

It might stem from a poor body image but it may also be that your boyfriend doesn't realise how these 'perfect women' (and his seeming desire for them) make you feel.

So there are communication issues here too, perhaps!

Anyway, thank you for sharing. And [anyone else is welcome to contribute] (anonymously) what they consider to be their symptoms of low self esteem...
