Low Self Esteem is in My Mind

by Anon

I have always lived by what others see when they encounter me: and I am morbidly obese, aged 31 with 6 kids and I have HIV/Aids.

I have an alcoholic ex-husband, so now when I try to find love and peace in my mind I'm unable to do so.

I find that I am always living on what has passed and not living for the here and now because I feel, in my mind, that here is no future without the hope of living the rest of my life alone or with someone who claims to love me. I am 'diseased' and do not feel worth it... though I live for another day, I am here today not tomorrow.

How to improve self esteem?

What can I do to make it a better day?

A New Way of Seeing Self-Esteem?

Steve here, and for the last few years (since Oct 2012, actually) I've been seeing (and thinking about) low self-esteem in a different way. Not as a problem to fix, but as feedback to notice (and nothing more). That's right: nothing to fix, everything to notice. And all this became obvious to me after being introduced to the Three Principles behind life (in Oct 2012).

I created a free 1-page Self-Esteem Guide that explains more, anyway. You can read about it here (NO EMAIL REQUIRED) - SMNash.com/self-esteem-guide/

Thank you - Steve

"I'm Sorry"

I am always sorry.

If I bump into you, I'm sorry.
If I make a mistake, I'm sorry.
If you make a mistake, I'm sorry.

The point here is that I always blame myself for everything. I say things like, "I am so clumsy" and, it seems, I will always excuse anything.

Thank you! Yes, saying 'sorry' all the time is a classic symptom of low self-esteem. So thank you very much for sharing, it really helps us all! :-)

As for you, site visitor, how about doing your bit now, how about you sharing one of your low self esteem signs! Thank yooouuu!

I Need...

I need you to listen to me
- even if I have to apologize and take the blame

I need you to like me
- I can't say "no" because I'm unlovable

I need you to respect me
- I don't take risks, so there are no mistakes

I need you to accept me
- I fear rejection; I just want to be liked

Ouch, I feel your pain I really do!

And I mean no offence when I say that what you have described above is a recipe for a life that is 'less'. And I talk from experience here.

I sincerely hope that sharing these symptoms of low self esteem has helped you, though, as it has certainly helped me!

Thank you, again, for sharing!
