Mimi's Inspirational Story

by Mimi

Mimi from FeelGreatAboutYourself.com creates her very own ongoing inspirational story in this interview. And, as you can guess from her website, Mimi believes that feeling good about yourself is something we all can do - right now. Her favorite inspirational quote backs this up. She also explains why her favorite self-help book is A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle...

This is Mimi's inspirational story...

1) Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi, my name is Mireille Lepelblad-Ogbolu aka Mimi.

How did I get to where I am today? Let's see. I used to be really shy when I was young. Gradually I was able to feel better about myself and at the moment I just feel great about who I am. I've come to accept myself just the way that I am and that feels amazing.

I did an assertiveness course, years ago and it made a huge difference in my life. To this day I'm grateful for the lady that did the course. She really helped open me up to others and to stop focusing on myself, because that's what a lot of people do when they have low self esteem. They're always worried about what others think of them and this holds them back.

I'm not saying that I'm assertive in every situation, but at least I worry a lot less and just love myself.

Inspirational book? I've read a number of books, as most of us on the self improvement path have. One of them I really liked is "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. I also followed the free course on Oprah.com. For those of you who don't know Eckhart, he's all about the power of being in the NOW and letting go of the ego. Reading this book and doing some of the exercises was another big "break" in my life.

What I hope to achieve in the next 5 years? There's a lot, but I think that the main thing is to have more peace of mind and live in a state of gratitude and joy. I've come to see that there's a lot in my life I can be grateful for. Little things you'd normally overlook. I just know that when I get to that state of mind, I'll just enjoy life without feeling the urge to achieve anything, but to be in a state of joy!

2) Share an 'angry' story or tell us what's in your happiness

The question about happiness is easier than the one about anger, because at the moment, I just don't remember ever being really angry with anyone. So the joy in my life? My little girls! I have three little girls and they fill me with joy. I learn so much about myself from observing them and it's great to see them evolve and just enjoy life. It makes me happy to see them play and laugh without a care in the world.

3) Share a favourite inspirational quotation.

"There is no key to happiness, the door is always open" author unknown.

4) Share a favourite website (not your own)

This is a tough one. I would have to say the site I visit the most is Facebook. Most of the time to stay in touch with friends. Great people I've met on the net. There are other sites I like, but I read their newsletter and don't really visit the sites that often.

5) Tell us about your blog/website

My site: http://www.feel-great-about-yourself.com

The reason I created the site was to show anyone interested in feeling better about themselves, that it can be done. That you don't have to wait until you've lost those extra pounds or gotten rid of those bad habits. You can feel great about yourself right now this minute and trust me it feels great and liberating.

I hope to one day be a coach and inspire others to love themselves more and just enjoy life. I don't have big dreams of having a huge pile of money and all kinds of nice stuff. I believe that being grateful in the moment, right now, opens you up to more to be grateful for. Having peace of mind and joy in your life, feels a lot better than having a lot of money and having to worry about keeping it or people taking it away from you.

My site has helped me a lot on my path. I've been able to achieve a lot more since I started it. I think it's because I've met a lot of great people while putting it together and still do. It's a great place for me to get inspiration and see how much I've grown and I truly hope you'll find the same inspiration there as well...:-)

[My motto: "Do at least one thing every day that makes you feel great about yourself"

Life takes care of you, if you take care of yourself! Just feel great!

Thanks for giving me this opportunity.

Much love,
