Joe Morris' Inspirational Story

by Joe Morris

Joe Morris's inspirational story revolves around love - he was lucky enough to find the love of his life early in life and now family is his absolute joy! But his teen years were fraught with trouble, and it was only after reading an inspirational book that he managed to get his life back on track...

1) Tell us a bit about yourself

Well, I grew up on a farm near a small town in Nebraska, and I spent most of my summers helping my family run the farm. I really started to resent the farm life when I got into high school, so I started to rebel against my parents, and whenever they wanted me to do something, I would ignore them.

I really started to go downhill in my sophomore year, and ended up getting in trouble with the law. I drank every weekend and would skip class to go smoke pot with my friends. I really started to hate what I had become, and wanted to get out of this horrible lifestyle, but I really didn't know how. I didn't want to lose every friend I had, but I didn't want to fall in so deep that I wouldn't be able to find a way out.

My future was a huge question mark, and I knew that if I didn't make a change soon, my future could be very grim.

At this low point in my life, I was searching for answers, but I didn't know where to look or who to ask because I didn't feel like I could trust anyone. That year for Christmas, I found a book in my stocking that would soon change my life completely. It was The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, and as soon as I got bored enough to start reading it, I knew it would lead me in the right direction.

The book is filled with real stories from real teens, and I felt like I could really relate to some of them and learn from their successes and mistakes. From there, every life decision I made seemed to be the right one.

I must admit that when I decided to join the school band, I got quite a few glares (I think they all thought I was going to try to sabotage something), but when I showed them how dedicated I was, I started to make new friends. I practiced my trumpet every day, and I came to realize the natural talent I have, not just in playing my instrument, but in many other things, including vocal and other musical instruments.

My extracurricular activities helped me improve myself and helped me get into college, where I met the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. As soon as I could, I made that woman my wife.

2) What is your greatest joy in life?

My family. I know that is incredibly cheesy, but it is 100 percent true. I have a daughter who is three and a son who was born a short 18 months ago. I love them more than words can say, and I thank God every day that I have with them. I never knew how much I wanted to be a father until I found out my Jamie was pregnant. We were still in college, and we weren't married. At first, I should admit, I was completely freaked out, but after about five minutes, I got over the shock and started to think about the wonderful years that were to come. In the next few weeks, I bought a ring and came up with a great way to surprise my bride-to-be.

3) Share a favourite inspirational quotation.

Sometimes, I get really stressed out and I need a way to get through a particularly difficult day. I worry about everything and everyone, and there are so many things I worry about that I can't change. That's when I stop, take a breath, and say this little prayer.

"God, give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
This reminds me that I am only human, and I can only do so much. Sometimes, we have to accept that we can't do everything, and you have to let some things go.

4) Share a favourite website (not your own)

I am really bad with procrastination, and I can find lots of ways to avoid working when I should be writing. Whenever I find myself drifting, I usually go to http://procrastinatingwritersblog.com/. The writer of this blog gives me lots of tips on how to stay motivated and on task, and as soon as I finish reading one of his blogs, I usually feel motivated enough to get back to work.

[5) Tell us about your website

100bestdatingsites.com was started to help others find the best person for them. I am so lucky to have found love so early in life, and I want to help others find the happiness I have found. Many relationships today start online. All you have to do is log on and give it a try. It's not difficult, and you shouldn't have to feel like you can't find someone. He or she is out there. You just have to look.

I've shared much of what I know about dating, and dating sites, at 100bestdatingsites.com - or, as I like to call it, Best Dating Sites.

Thank you,

An Inspirational story without doubt...

The inspirational story of Joe Morris sounds too good to be true. It's almost a modern fairly tale.

In this case luck and the right decision turned a life around.
