How to Be Happy by Combining Flexibility and Challenge
I have learned that being flexible is always a good idea. A lack of flexibility always causes resistance and therefore unhappiness. Therefore, in my opinion, flexibility should be a pretty high priority for anyone seeking happiness.
If you don't feel like doing something, don't force it. Be flexible about how you organize your life. Doing things without really wanting to often means that we don't do them as well as we could. It is almost always worth waiting for the moment when you feel inclined to do a particular thing rather than forcing yourself to do it immediately.
You may have noticed that I said "almost always". That is because there are times when this is not the case. We all face unpleasant situations which need to be dealt with immediately (blocked sinks, flat tires ...) and when one of those situations come along there is no avoiding it.
Here is my solution to these unavoidable situations, though: turn them into challenges.
The challenge is to make sure you that stay alert, do not complain and remain peaceful. Not only it will make your task easier, it will help you grow as an individual.
So if you want to be happy, it is simple: Just choose either flexibility or challenge to deal with every unpleasant situation you encounter!
