Hi Steve - I diligently read the wonderful quotes you select each week and often reflect on how they apply to my own life.

This week's quote I find especially interesting.

As with many of us, we have such dreams and aspirations built up inside of us but often do not know where to begin.

For some, we may be the student who envisions success but isn't really sure what we want to do to succeed. For other's, we may be well into our prime with passions that we've never taken the time to explore. Inspiration can go a long way, but until we are ready to step out into the unknown, we will never truly know how far we can go!

Virgina Satir's Quote - What I Say...

As for me, well I both like Virginia Satir's quote (and the quotations listed below) as well as Amanda's thoughts on them - both inspirational.

And if the truth be known, I guess Virgina's words reflect the real reason why I created Self Help Collective in the first place: to empower people to be the best that they can be.

And the reason I want to empower people thus? Well, it's a selfish reason, obviously - I want to empower myself to be the best I can be.

So my encouraging and urging you to do this - to give you the self help resources, tips and advice, and a platform for you to share both your wisdom (and lack) - then I am encouraging and urging myself to do this, too.

Learning by teaching, as I call it in the video.

==Aside==
This was my not vision for Self Help Collective from the beginning. Originally, I just wanted to offer guru-free self help. Now I can see that my vision for this site evolves, and becomes clearer, as the site develops and as I develop as a human being. In fact, when I decided to build this website in the first place (using a software service called SBI!) - in Feb 2008 - I had no idea that I was even going to create a self help website. As you'll see, if you read my site building diary here!

In a sense, how Self Help Collective has evolved reflect's Virginia Satir's quote: "... to go far beyond where you are now."

So I am very much a fan of this inspirational quote.

I want this for myself - want to take risks in life, so I can go far beyond where I am right now.

And I want this for you, too.

And that is what the Self Help Collective website is all about...
