As I say in the video above, this inspirational quote by unknown is kind of what inspired me to create the Self Help Collective website in the first place - to try and help and be helped, to inspire and be inspired, AND... to learn by teaching.

Yep, I've learnt an awful lot about myself whilst putting together this self help site. And even the 'bad stuff' I've learned has been helpful for me to know. (After all, it's always good to have a better idea of how we are experienced by others. Always. Even if you don't agree with what they say of you.)

• So I've discovered that I'm quite a fearful man (fear of failure, anyone? and, at the same time, I'm quite a happy man too.


• I have good levels of self-confidence but sometimes have low self esteem


• I believe in myself and my own unique talents, and I believe in others and their unique talents too

Oh, and I like a bit of inane smiling every now and then. :-)

(Who doesn't, eh!)

So, yes, I believe in the wisdom behind this unknown inspirational quote: make a difference to yourself, and encourage others to make a difference to themselves in the process.

Lead by example.

Sometimes, words of encouragement really don't cut it. Sometimes you have to act!...

And I reckon most of us do these things from time to time, anyway.

Most of us inspire, whether it be at work or at home.

And we all of us smile.

But do we do enough? Do we smile enough? Do we inspire ourselves enough? Do we inspire others enough?

Hmm, well I'll leave that question in your mind to ponder on, I will...
