As I say in the new year resolution quotes video above, I think inspirational quotations can serve as a powerful reminder - a reminder that encourages us to resolve to change..

But it is important, though, to recognise the self-sabotaging forces that quite often try to prevent us from succeeding, as well as also recognising our real reasons for setting the new year resolution in the first place...

Bernard Meltzer's inspirational quote is a fantastic encouragement for us all to take up the cause of volunteering.

Whether that be volunteering in our local community, or for a national cause, or even whether it simply means caring for a loved one in need of such care.

Volunteering is a great way to go, and this is one new year resolution I intend to make for the coming new year.

As for powerful words of Marianne Williamson, well these words probably sum up the reason why we often make new year resolutions and then break our new year resolutions.

We self-sabotage, clearly, and get in the way of ourselves.

All to stop us facing how truly great we are.

What a shame.

But it really doesn't have to stay like this.
