The Benefits of...
Maintaining Positive Attitude

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

Both Nietzsche and Alberto Posse (and me) agree. :-)

In fact Alberto's positive attitude article below illustrates the benefits of a positive attitude - how much better life is in having a positive attitude - with some simple examples.

Just in case you needed persuading!

Albert actually thinks that setbacks are helpful - they make you more determined to achieve your goals in life.

What do you think?

It would be great to hear your thoughts!

As for my thoughts...

Maintaining positive attitude - what I say...

Well, I am the first to admit that having a positive attitude has not always been my strong point. I actually believe that I spent most of my adolescent years into my twenties NOT having a positive mental attitude. :-(

So not only do I now fully appreciate being positive, but I also understand the benefits of a positive attitude. And, off the top of my head, here are five such benefits:

  1. You believe that you can achieve things even when setbacks occur.
(The opposite attitude is not even trying because you fear you might fail.)

  2. When others succeed you see their success as setting an example for you.
(The opposite attitude is resenting this success and blaming it on 'luck'.)

  3. You attract the company of other people who believe that they 'can'.
(The opposite is attracting negative, energy-sapping, people into your life.)

  4. You go with the flow more, when unexpected things happen
(The opposite is believing that someone has got it in for you or doesn't 'like' you as much as you first thought.)

  5. You don't take yourself too seriously, and are happy to join in the fun when it's at your expense. (I mean, that hat! - what were you thinking? ;-) )

  6. You experience more joy in life as you see it containing limitless possibilities.
(The opposite experience is one of worry and fear and lack of faith.)

  7. You love yourself more. Which helps others love you more. Which generates a fantastic positive energy around you.
(The opposite is to love yourself less. And to disbelieve those that do love you. Which is not a happy place to be.

Basically, a positive attitude achieves and a negative attitude does not. (I also think meditation can help, too!)

That does not mean to say that you should always be full of confidence and that you'll never experience lows. A positive attitude is just seeing things - no matter how grim - in the best light possible. Or it's about limiting the negativity to as short a time as possible.

I'm a believer in being positive! My life was so much 'less' when I was a negative, glass half-empty type of guy.

Yes, it's all about self-fulfilling prophecies really.

You get what you think you deserve.

And positively-minded people think they deserve more than negatively-minded people.

"Whether you think you can or think you can't you are right!" to misquote Henry Ford

That's what I think, anyway. Would love to hear your views on being positive too!

Over to Alberto...

Maintaining Positive Attitude - Keeping Focused on the Prize

Maintaining positive attitude - what Alberto Posse has to say...

There is an old saying for people who appear to be lucky in life. These are the people who are known to be born "with a silver spoon in their mouths." What that means is that there are a few of us who have been born with such gifts that we breeze through life without an apparent care in the world. But, is this truly what destiny means? Are we to yield and succumb to negative thoughts about ourselves when things go against us in life? Certainly, we are meant to learn things while we are here on earth. These learning experiences can only be accomplished by maintaining positive attitude characteristics.

Your attitude in all your life circumstances, mean that you can derive benefits from the challenges of the situation you are presently experiencing. Remember, if the situation you are experiencing at the present time doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger. The main asset that you possess in negotiating any difficult life experience is a positive attitude during challenging times. It's the lessons that we learn from life's challenges that make us better people. We must value life's lessons, learn from these experiences keep a healthy attitude, and avoid repeating the same mistakes. If we do not heed these lessons and face our challenges head-on by maintaining positive attitude, we are doomed to face the challenges again.

Perhaps, you are challenged with opening a new business or facing the prospect of going in a different direction in life. You are experiencing self-doubts and a lack of confidence regarding moving forward with your business opportunity. You must understand that every one of us can accomplish in this life whatever we want because each of us has the power to reach our goals. You may be having funding issues, or difficulty in generating leads for your business, and you may be feeling depressed about the situation. By maintaining positive attitude, you will not only handle your challenges well, but will be a stronger and better person for enduring the experience.

If you are experiencing self-doubts about going out on your own and setting up your own business, consider for a moment how you have arrived at this point . There had to be some intuitive drive and message that propelled you to open your own business. By heeding the messages of your inner voice, you will be led in the right direction. Nothing in this life comes easy. In fact, you'll get your greatest satisfaction by overcoming the obstacles that stand in your path for success. You can overcome the most challenging impediments to your goals with enthusiastic disposition throughout the process.

By maintaining positive attitude with regard to life's challenges, we assert that confidence in your own ability, patience, hard work, and a faith that you will accomplish your goals will propel you to achievement. People will sense an air of confidence in your abilities, and will trust your judgment in business and in life in general. It is not the individuals with the silver spoons, who achieve their life's goals, without "Drive, Determination and a great Attitude", they are doomed to lose all that they have. By developing this quality, you will remain focused on your goals and keep your eyes on your ultimate prize.
