My Favorite Inspirational Videos
on YouTube...
Inspirational video clips just for you!
I've watched hundreds of utube videos in putting together this self-help site! And the videos that follow contained the most inspiring messages. In my humble opinion. (Love to hear yours!)
I believe they all contain a strong self-improvement and self help message:
- Watching The Pale Blue Dot YouTube video humbles us all.
- Randy Pausch's Last Lecture brings a tear to our eye.
- Steve Jobs commencement speech contains truly amazing words!
- The World's Strongest Dad inspires all Dads - inspires us all, really.
- And Baz Luhrman's "Wear Sunscreen" will always inspire me.
How about you? What's your favourite inspirational video here? Do let us know!
As for me, I've listed these YouTube videos in my order of preference. I hope you enjoy...

1. Inspirational Speech by Dr. Randy Pausch: The Last Lecture
Dr Randy Pausch is dying of cancer. (He died in July 2008, actually.) And this video is an ten-minute excerpt of his famous 'Last Lecture' that he gave at Carnegie Hall. It is both heart-warming, inspiring and a little sad...
I found these words by Randy the most inspiring "The
brick walls that are in our way are there for a reason. They're not there to keep
us out. They're there to give us a way to show how much we want it..."

What Carl Sagan's 'Pale Blue Dot' has to say...
2. Carl Sagan's 'Pale Blue Dot' utube video
Carl Sagan was was an American astronomer, astrochemist, author, and highly successful popularizer of astronomy. It's his voice (and thoughts) you can hear on this video. Carl lets us look at the world, as a pale blue dot, via his involvement with the Voyager space mission.
Everything that happens here on earth really, really is insignificant. And there are loads of famous movie clips too. And that's why I think Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot video is truly inspirational. Okay, I'll shut up...
Inspirational videos - what Steve Jobs has to say...
3. Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address video
Wow, I first watched this video several years ago. I took notes. I tried to do what Steve Jobs urged. And, after a while, I forgot. And then I watched it again and repeated the cycle. It wasn't until Steve Jobs untimely death that I finally decided to add the Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Address to this page. Steve's words are inspirational, they truly are. Listen closely... (RIP Steve.)
What the world's strongest Dad has to say...
4. The World's Strongest Dad video
At first glance, this is an odd video - you wonder what's going on. But when you realise that a) this man is doing triathlons whilst carrying his disabled son and b) he only does these events because his son gets so much joy out of them - in fact his son said that he doesn't feel disabled, when they run - then, then you become truly inspired by what human beings are capable of.
(And the Dad, Dick Hoyt, was a self-confessed 'porker' before he started training for the triathlons. And now, what a physique...)
Inspirational videos - what Matt has to say...
5. 'Where the hell is Matt?' video
Hmm, I challenge you to watch Matt doing his silly dance all over the world and not feel inspired and amazed at how rich and diverse this planet and its people are...
Matt, do your thang!...
What Baz Luhrman has to say...
6. Baz Luhrman's 'Wear Sunscreen' video
This is not so much an inspiring video as an inspiring 'poem' with a video as background. If you've never heard Baz Luhrman wax lyrical then just listen closely to his words of wisdom, and if you have, listen again... :-)
Take it away, Baz!...
What these inspirational quotes have to say...
7. Inspirational quotes video
Some people are inspired by watching a video of inspirational quotes. I was particularly inspired by watching these quotes and listening to John Lennon's Imagine song at the same time...
Inspirational videos - what Chet Armstrong has to say...
8. Chet Armstrong's Self Help video
And, just in case you think I take all of this self-help malarkey a bit too seriously, here's Chet Armstrong on Self Help. Not necessarily inspirational, but funny nevertheless :-) ...
