Smile awhile! (Huh?) :-)

Yes, find poems/stories like Desiderata, The Two Wolves, and The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. And inspirational videos like The World's Strongest Dad video plus that incredibly moving video by Dr Randy Pausch.

(Actually, there's a whole page of inspirational poems, should you really be into poems, including poems about happiness!)

Yes, self-help shouldn't be all about chastising yourself for not being 'good enough'. Having a larf is also important, don't you think? And that's what 'smile awhile' is all about.

(Oh, and if you want to get all serious and take a self help test - you can, too! :-) )

About Life, The Universe and Everything - Huh?

About life, the universe and everything - what they say...

I did a lot of research (and planning) before I started to create this self-help website, before I even built one web page (see this diary for details). I visited lots of self-help websites and read lots of self-help books etc. And, every now and then, I found an inspiring word or inspiring video; and I learnt a little more about the meaning of life, the universe and everything! (Answer: 42.)

You can find many of the inspirational videos I found on my quest inside the Self Help Collective website (or find a full list at Self Help Collective's YouTube page).

And as for the inspiring words, I'm going to list them all here (in no particular order).

I hope that in helping yourself at the Self Help Collective, you can also laugh, cry and just be inspired as I have been by the words that follow. Life is about learning, I agree, but it's also about enjoyment and laughter too. :-) And I hope these words can do that for you. As always, I welcome your feedback.

About life, the universe and everything (huh?) - what I say...

I say that we're all a long time dead and that life is meant to be enjoyed. And that's why, without further ado, I'm going to introduce you to two people who brightened many people's lives (including mine) in the UK during the 70s and 80s. They performed comedy sketches and sang songs and always finished their entertaining with song that began with these words, "Bring me sunshine..." :-)

Yes, I'm talking about Morecambe and Wise. Over to you two...

I'm a Brit and Morecambe and Wise brought me much, much sunshine. And I say thankyou for that and RIP! :-)

Yes, this page is all about joy and happiness and smiling and reading inspirational words. That is what it's all about, after all - innit?
