ANGER & FEAR

I am a 44yr old man barely dealing with my fear and anger management issues for the past year now. I grew up in a home where my father was an abusive alcoholic towards my mother and mentally abusive to me and my sister.

To my father we were there to be seen and not heard. Every time we'd try to share an opinion, it was a "shut up!" reply back from Dad.

I grew up in fear and anger because I couldn't and didn't know how to express myself to others and that made me socially disabled. In turn it gave me anger, stress and anxiety.

From a teen to my adult years I turned to alcohol for comfort and it opened a door for me to meet party people. But now after all those years, beers, fears & tears, I'm beginning to deal with my issues through counseling.

And thanks to this web site for the advice and the ability to express myself here.
