A Man's Low Self Esteem

by T
(Victoria , Australia)

My low self esteem symptoms as a collection of words...

untrusting, lack of humility, unforgiving, fearfulness, self shame, guilt, making bad assumptions...

...Being unaware of my low self esteem, I have grown up masking all these low self esteem symptoms with a blanket of false pride covering it all.

Only when my marriage failed and my ex-wife informed me of the victimisation she experienced due to my low self esteem did I seek help.

I had thought it was only fear that I suffered from. Little did I know that all the symptoms that I have mentioned above were the elements of a man trapped in a boy's body...

STEVE COMMENT:
A boy is not able to honestly face who he is (or has been), T, and acknowledge it to himself, and to the world. Thank you. And I wish you well with your journey, and suggest - should you ever read this page - that you seek out a local men's group to share both these views you have of yourself and more positive ones too. These men will 'just' listen, and no judgements will be made, and you can take it from there...

A New Way of Seeing Self-Esteem?

Steve here, and for the last few years (since Oct 2012, actually) I've been seeing (and thinking about) low self-esteem in a different way. Not as a problem to fix, but as feedback to notice (and nothing more). That's right: nothing to fix, everything to notice. And all this became obvious to me after being introduced to the Three Principles behind life (in Oct 2012).

I created a free 1-page Self-Esteem Guide that explains more, anyway. You can read about it here (NO EMAIL REQUIRED) - SMNash.com/self-esteem-guide/

Thank you - Steve
